About Me

I'm a big fan of Jane Austen which started a passion for the Regency period.  In 2008 I attended my first promenade in Bath and spent ages trying to find bonnets that were made in the uk that i liked and that were reasonably priced.  So I decided to have a go at making my own and have been asked may friends and family to make for them to.  This led to creating an Etsy shop in 2011 on the advice of a good friend and this has led to a website.  Regency is not the only period that has my interest, in my spare time I've joined a historical dance group with my husband, we do love a good ball.

My bonnets are all hand sewn the brim is made of buckram and wire to give it shape, then covered in fabric and often have a soft crown I do make stovepipe bonnets which are made completely of a buckram and wire frame and then covered with fabric.  I work with many different fabrics, some are elaborately trimmed with lots of feathers, flowers etc.  This makes each bonnet unique, and can be made out of your own fabric and trimmings.  I can customise any bonnet in your fabric or in a colour of your choice.

I also offer a pattern make up service where you supply the fabric (and pattern)and I will make it up for you contact me for more information.
